ok some friends told me about a couple issues.
first; the link in yesterday's blog post was a broken localhost thing. oops. my bad. it's fixed now.
second; apparently rating as a custom tag cannot be used by readers? i assumed at least some proper rss readers would at the very least let users filter items via custom tags, smth like "hey look that thing up in there", but apparently that's not a thing. pretty fucking lame not having this for a standard that's been out for yknow, fuckin decades; but whatever.
anyway now the rating property is also a category. so now the categories for this specific feed are art (cuz for now it's just art), original (cuz it's original works), and safe/mature/adult. i'm still leaving the custom rating tag, just in case. take a peek at the raw xml if you wanna see exactly how it's put together.
categories are a standard thing. hopefully this time things will work out, cuz if they don't at this point it won't be my fault anymore.
