Go shout, run and laugh,

Honor the child in your soul;

Even late gifts count.

"We love you"? Tell me;

Do you cherish what I built,

Or your burned blueprints?

Look, look, mama bird-

I grew wings like a big girl!

At last, I can fly!

Atrophied childhood.

"You are gifted", they said; but

Their hands bore no gifts.

Chrome reel against head,

Belts and motors in waiting,

It sings already.

Hand sunk into you,

I caress you very heart;

Peace immaculate.

Our hearts shine strange lights;

Gaze at them; unveil their shapes

With kindness in mind.

White fur and white skin.

We lock, basking in soft touch,

Resting weary heads.

Cheeks rubbing in bed,

I feel I can love myself.

Thank you, dark respites.

No two skies the same;

Ephemeral oceans

For my eyes only.

Our fangs and talons

Glisten sharp, yet dance gentle,

To our shared heartbeats.

A wish of girlhood.

But too late; for already,

I was a woman.
