a modern reinterpretation of Hell and Heaven, in which (who could have guessed!) the inhabitants of Hell actually are the nice guys. or at the very least, the coolest ones. largely inspired by Dante's Inferno and the Ars Goetia (mostly its demons).
Legend of Erza

Erza, but reinterpreted as a world for a fictional SNES game series. The first game came out in late 1993, and the second one in early 1997.

this encompasses all characters that live in some version of modern/contemporary Earth as we know it, without necessarily being in the same one altogether.

imagine the general world of Pokemon, except it's exclusively populated by anthro Pokemon instead of terrible humans pushing them to fight all the time.
