hey wassup this bad bitch got a brand new blog can you believe it
...fr tho. can't believe this wasn't the very first thing i added to this website. finally, yall will know exactly what i update and when! (sorry)
this blog's purpose
for now, this blog space will present website updates, but maybe it'll showcase other things; media reviews, thoughts, etc. ultimately, it's all about what i feel is worth posting. i'm not the type to publish everything about my life, but i wanna believe some of it is worth sharing. we'll see!
two major todos
this is also a good space to talk about further website work, so let's discuss the only 2 "works" sections that are still empty.
"lore" is a puzzle. i manage my lore with obsidian, so i'll have to deploy one or more quartz instances. i say "one or more" cuz as much as i'd like to get a wiki for all worlds, Erza really is the one that matters.
"texts" is an even worse puzzle, in a way. i like to play with formatting; some of my texts use colors to distinguish characters, or play on text alignment, etc. none of those are very manageable in markdown there really are only 3 ways to go about this:
- i find or create a fitting parser that can handle my text quirks (hell).
- i make every text into its own special page (rip sensible management/maintainability)
- i make texts into PDFs and their pages only point to them (lame)
none of these are great, but option #1 is the only vaguely future-proof one, so that's the one i'll be researching for now.
improvements
i also have a number of smaller planned features. these include (but aren't limited to):
- adding various info to character pages, such as name pronounciation, reference palettes, playlists.
- adding portraits to character cards—
- —and adding said cards to art pages, replacing simple text links.
- making table of contents compatible with blog posts.
- add subtitles to better identity page types (art, blog post, character, etc).
also, thanks!
really, thank you for visiting this funny little place of mine! i don't track metrics, and because this is static website i also don't have any comment system for people to leave notes and things. but i know i get regular visitors; to both those i know and those i don't, i want to say thank you.
as much as we artists like to brag about doing stuff for themselves first, it'd be unfair to say we don't seek a little recognition. and i'm happy to know my small space is both seen and enjoyed :)
hoping yall will enjoy the stuff i have planned for this website. have a great day!
