Sofia & Elrik

Sofia (left head) and Elrik (right head) have 2 legs and 4 arms. They share physical sensations, but only control the limbs on their respective sides. They both have blue eyes with thin irises.

Sofia's hair is tied into a pair of ponytails, and adorned with a medal attached to a ribbon. Elrik's is longer, messier and retained by a bandana.

Sofia & Elrik were born in the leading family of a Grandnorthern town, their parents being part of its council. However, their mother died in childbirth, and so they were mostly raised by their father, Obrine.

Sofia & Elrik were actually both assigned male at birth, at which point Sofia was named Sefir. They were fine for the first decade of their life, but Sefir eventually admitted to his brother it was painful for him to remain a boy, and wished he could become a girl. He was scared of asking to transition while having a conjoined twin, but Elrik was perfectly supportive and okay with it; he'd do anything to help his sibling be happy.

Soon enough, they would talk to their father about it, and Sefir would now be named Sofia. Local beliefs pushed the idea that male twins became great warriors and brought great luck, and so Sofia was afraid of how everyone would react to her transition. Obrine, just like Elrik, was overwhelmingly supportive, and no villager spoke ill of Sofia… save for one.

Efres, a council member and colleague of Obrine, affirmed the decision of he and his children was foolish; the town already had few capable warriors, and mere children shouldn't be allowed to undo the sign of luck they themselves represented! Obrine, enraged at such disrespect, told Efres that implying his children weren't brave, strong or smart enough to decide their own fate was a disgusting offense, and formally pushed him into a duel. Efres lost, and Obrine called in favors from other council members to get him exiled.

Sofia then went through a ritual change of name, and took voice training lessons with the town's storyteller and bard to acquire a feminine voice. Years later, as Sofia & Elrik turned 16, they both received their respective swords, passed down in their family through generations.

As planned by their father, Sofia & Elrik are training to become fierce warriors. Being able to wield 2 very different swords, they're each learning a different battle style and how to use it in harmony with the other.

As is customary among Grandnortherners, Sofia & Elrik gave their weapons new names when they received them. Sofia named hers Ogonat (lit. "swift one") and Elrik named his Pavkenat (lit. "unyielding one").

Sofia & Elrik's traditional costume is actually a mix of both a masculine and a feminine one, that their father ordered especially for them.
